How To Discover Your Cloud’s Niche

In an industry where everyone claims to be the best at what they do it’s important to have something to make you stand out from the crowd.  A niche that puts you ahead of your competitors rather than keeping you in line.

One of the problems for cloud providers is discovering what that niche is, and if you’re going to become a white label host than you need to start discovering what your specialty will be.

First things first, what do you want users to get from your cloud? Do you want to be the fastest cloud around? Are you more concerned about excellent customer service? Or do you just want to be the absolute cheapest cloud host?

Whatever service you want to be known for you need to focus on.

The reason company’s need to have a specialty is to not only to differentiate themselves, but also so they can be the best at one thing – “Jack of all trades, master at none.” You wouldn’t want your company to be known for doing many things just okay, you’d want your company to be known for the excellent product you service.

Sometimes, an outsiders point of view is best for helping to point you in the right direction. Most businesses hire a consultant to help get the traction going, if that isn’t for you then listen to your customers. What service is their favorite? What are they having the most problems with?

By going straight to the users you’ll not only get a better sense of what they’re looking for, but also what you need to work on – from there you’ll better able to discover what your niche is.

What are your suggestions for discovering your company’s niche? Share your tips with us in the comments below!
