
According to a new study, by Pew Internet, older Americans actually enjoy using technology – whether they would like to openly admit it or not.
While traditionally Americans ages 45 + are consider slow to adopt new technologies (or any at all), in the study 89% admitted they would be willing to embrace something new when it’s better than what they currently use. If that’s not astonishing enough, 79.2% of older Americans say they find technology fun and enjoy trying out new gadgets.
Though instant message applications continue to be less popular, seniors are finding that using the Internet has become a regular part of their life. Among those users, ages 65 and older, 70% use the Internet on a daily bases.
While most baby boomers may complain about new technology, it turns out they are actually enjoying the improvements and using them daily! Although, most won’t be tackling Instagram or Pinterest, there is still an overwhelmingly large percent using email to connect with friends and family, as well as some older social networking sites.
